I love to cook, preferably from scratch. I have a well-stocked pantry and lots of fresh goodies at my disposal; however, I try not to use very many exotic or hard to find ingredients. I have a toddler ( aka Little Chew), and it is usually her tastes that dictate whatever I’m cooking. She prefers savory to sweet, so there will be a lot of herbs and spices bandied about.

My husband (Big Chew) has a sweet tooth, so there will be the occasional dessert or cookie, I promise!

I prefer hot, hot, hot (some say I can eat fire), so there may be an occasional recipe for other heat-lovers out there.

You will rarely see raw green bell pepper used in my recipes; that’s just the way it is.

Cooking from scratch does not mean I don’t enjoy time saving devices or shortcuts! – I’m a hippie, not a luddite. As long as the integrity of the recipe is not compromised, I will probably use them.
